Why this reading exists

When did “I’m fine” become the easiest answer?

A child walks through a green forest toward warm light, surrounded by small bright wings

You might say it before you have even asked yourself how you feel. A need goes quiet. A wish can wait. After a while, you may forget you put it away at all.

Inner-child reflection asks what the younger parts of you needed and what you need now. Shadow work means gently noticing the feelings and habits you learned to keep out of view. We begin with the life you know today, and your own story sets the pace.

October is especially close to my heart because of Samhain, a Gaelic festival at the turn toward winter and one of the traditions behind Halloween. In my own practice, it is a time when the veil between worlds feels thin. I am drawn to the things we keep in the dark: an unspoken need, a wish we called foolish, a joy we promised to return to. The Playroom grew from my wish to meet those parts with you, gently, one door at a time.

The offering

What have you learned to leave behind?

A worn toy rabbit sits beneath a window that opens onto a long, empty corridor

Maybe you are the agreeable one, the capable one, the one who never needs much. What has that role cost the part of you who wanted to be seen?

This reading explores the roles you took on, the needs you quieted, and what it might mean to make room for yourself now. The “forgotten things” are needs, wishes, and qualities that may have had less space in your life.

Does any of this feel familiar?

  • You make yourself useful before asking what you need.
  • You feel you must earn rest.
  • You keep putting joy off until later.

Your story guides the reading. You do not need to know where a pattern began.

Fifteen cards · five questions

The tarot and oracle spread

Five questions. Fifteen cards. For each question, one oracle card and two tarot cards are read together in the context of your life. Each chapter connects its theme to everyday life.

  1. The Costume Box

What role do I wear to feel accepted, and what gets less room when I put it on?

Meet the role that helped you belong—and the self waiting behind it.

  2. The Small Guardian

Which protective habit helps me feel safe, and what does it cost me now?

Honor what this habit protects while asking whether it still fits.

  3. The Toy Left on the Shelf

What need or wish have I overlooked, and how might I care for it now?

Listen for a need or wish that has been waiting for your care.

  4. The Unfinished Game

Where has joy or self-expression gone quiet, and how can I return without pressure?

Find a gentler doorway back to delight and self-expression.

  5. A Place for Me

What would it look like to make room for this self in ordinary life?

Imagine making room for yourself in ordinary choices and relationships.

A second symbolic lens

The natal chart: another view of the story

Your birth chart offers another way to reflect on what you need, protect, and carry. Tarot remains the primary lens.

A butterfly-winged figure walks beneath a crescent moon in a star-filled sky

Chiron

Language for sensitivity and repair.

The Moon

Emotional needs and what feels comforting.

Saturn

Responsibility, rules, and the ways you may hold yourself tightly.

Other placements may deepen the reading when they speak to your story. With a reliable birth time, the IC/fourth house may also bring insight into home and belonging. This is a focused chart reflection, not a full natal reading.

The closing pages

The Key to the Playroom

The Key offers a final message to carry with you. It also holds space for mediumship: through my work with God Loki and Lady Hekate, I may channel messages when they come through. You can choose to include or leave out channeled messages in your private preparation form after booking. Your reading is complete either way.

Mediumship in the reading

The presences I work with

Lady Hekate

A red-haired figure with wolves before a red circle and three moons

Lady Hekate holds a key at the threshold of this reading. It invites you to approach what you have tucked away—a need you dismissed, a feeling you could not name, or a younger part still waiting for kindness. You do not have to force any door open.

With her as a guide, you can notice what is ready to be acknowledged, what still needs care, and how to move at your own pace.

God Loki

A red-haired figure with black and white wings beneath a sun, moon, and hanging stars

God Loki brings a different kind of key: permission to be less polished. The playful, inconvenient, or misunderstood parts of you may have been put away because they did not fit the role you learned to play. His presence invites curiosity about those parts and the freedom to question a rule you have outgrown.

A little mischief here does not have to mean throwing your life into chaos. It can mean trying one small, surprising thing: saying what you want, playing without being good at it, or letting yourself change.
